Moi University, School of Engineering in collaboration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), National Construction Authority (NCA), National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), and Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) received support from the Royal Academy of Engineering in UK, in the framework of the Engineering Skills where they are Most Needed (ESMN) initiative, which seeks to support the delivery of skills and education programmes that will lead to development of much needed engineering skills capacity, enhanced safety standards, and infrastructure that remains safe. This award is funded through Engineering X, an international collaboration founded by the Royal Academy of Engineering and Lloyd’s Register Foundation.

The SCEE Project held its initiation meeting on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd September 2022 at Moi University, Nairobi Campus Boardroom, Bazaar Building, led by the project PI, Prof. Eng. Augustine Makokha. The project will be implemented over a period of 2 years beginning July 2022.

The focus of the SCEE project is on strengthening safety skills capacity in the Kenya’s engineering construction sector for sustainability in socio-economic development.
